Profit is the Center of Our Universe

It makes us laugh to think that we once believed that the Earth was the center of the Universe.  Hopefully, one day we will also be able to laugh that we once believed profit is the most important human activity and how we allowed it to become the driver of our behavior. 

Profit, and its lovechild growth, are the gravity that pulls all of our focus. As the majority of society has moved up from survival living, we spend most of our time focused on work and making an income. We work for companies want to make profit. Even when we work for governments, we should not dilute our thinking – governments provide needed services, but they only thrive over time if they can deliver increasing monetary growth to its constituents.  At the national level, this is currently measured through the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). 

Unless we increase profits over time, the whole capitalist system comes crashing down.

But what if the gravity of Earth was not the strongest force in the universe.  What is Earth’s profit-gravitation pull was important, but there was a stronger and more important factor that was the true center of the universe.

Of course, we now know that the true force in our Solar System is the Sun, and even our Sun is just one of many in the Milky Way galaxy, and that is just one galaxy in the Universe.

So what is the gravity that is controlling the universe?
